Swan River, Captain Jervoise, HMS Success, December 1831: Autograph letter written on-board the ship whilst in Portsmouth Harbour; signed, to Admiral Littlehales in Bath, commending his son, First Lieut. Littlehales, for his service at Swan River. 'Your son.having served in this ship under my command for nearly three years & a half..I have the pleasing duty to perform in bearing the highest testimaony of his conduct throughout; but more particularly when his Example was essential, during the very tedious & arduous undertaking we had to encounter to complete the repair of the ship after her disaster at the Swan settlement.'
