Colonial photograph of Bernard Otto Holterman. C.1872. Gold miner, businessman, photographer and politician. In 1872 he found the largest gold speciman at Hill End 'The Holtermann Nugget'. Photograph signed in sepia ink, with studio stamp verso. 'American and Australasian Photographic Coy; Hill End' (possibly a publicity image after his gold find.).
